Project Management Fundamentals

For people who have run a few projects but have no formal training. Learn to define your project and its objectives, build a plan covering scope, governance, communication and completion criteria, plan proactively for risks, avoid common pitfalls and make the best use of your team’s time and resources.

Advanced Project Management Tools & Techniques

For development project managers with a solid foundation in methodologies. Sharpen your skills in estimating durations and budgets, Critical Path Analysis, tracking and reporting, change requests, risk management and resource optimisation. Compare both options on our project management overview.

Mastering Public Relations

Public Relations lessons from the corporate trenches. Explore the role of PR, stakeholder groups and audiences, PR planning and measurement, ethics, social media, media relations and writing for offline and online media. For press officers, social media coordinators and anyone dealing with the media or the public.

Mastering Marketing

NGO marketing tips from the corporate trenches. Work on positioning, audience segmentation, campaigns, digital channels, fundraising communications and measuring results.

In-House Training

Our courses and trainers, your office. A cost-effective way to train several staff members at once, with material adapted to your organisation and its specific needs. Find out more about in-house training.

1:1 & Small-Group Coaching

Focused support from a trainer, individually or in small groups, for a few hours or a few days. Ideal for applying tools to a live project or preparing for a specific challenge.

How to choose

  • Start with your challenge. Is it organising and delivering work (project management), managing reputation and media (public relations), or reaching and motivating supporters (marketing)?
  • Consider your experience. In project management, choose Fundamentals if you have no formal training, and Advanced if you already have a solid foundation.
  • Think about who else needs it. If several colleagues share the same need, in-house training is often more cost-effective.
  • Need something very specific? Coaching lets you work directly on your own project or plan.

Formats

Open courses are one-day classroom workshops in Brussels, where you learn alongside staff from other organisations. Each includes a binder with training materials, morning and afternoon coffee and tea breaks, and a networking lunch. Learning with peers from different organisations is a valuable part of the experience: you hear how others have tackled similar challenges and leave with new contacts as well as new skills.

In-house training brings the course to your office, adapted to your organisation. It is a cost-effective way to train several people at once, gives your team a shared language and approach, and allows confidential discussion of your own projects and communication challenges.

Coaching offers individual or small-group sessions, online or in Brussels. It is ideal when you need focused help with a specific project or plan, or want support in applying what you learned on a course.

What every course has in common

  • Practical and hands-on. Most of the day is spent applying tools in exercises, not listening to lectures.
  • Grounded in NGO reality. We use real-life examples from NGO projects and adapt corporate best practice to the constraints and values of the non-profit sector.
  • Lessons from the corporate trenches. Proven methods from demanding commercial environments, made accessible and relevant.
  • Ready to use. You leave with materials, templates and an action plan you can apply the next working day.
